We had to start with the biggest news, right? It's official, our Ridge Heart Charm Necklace features in the Barbie movie, in a pivotal scene you might call the heart of the film. Barbie searches for her purpose, with an incredible soundtrack of Billie Eilish's 'What Was I Made For?'. No we're not crying, you are.

If you haven’t seen the hashtag #Barbiecore yet on TikTok with its millions of views, the fashion collaborations, or even the takeover of London’s main attractions (hello, Barbie-can) we’re not sure where you’ve been.

Luxury fashion brands have skillfully integrated Barbiecore style into their clothing collections, merging haute couture with the playful charm of Barbie. The Italian luxury brand Moschino partnered with Barbie to create a limited-edition collection. Their Barbie-themed clothing line features high-end garments infused with Barbie's iconic silhouette and vibrant colours, offering fashion enthusiasts a taste of luxury while celebrating Barbie's aesthetic.

Boucheron, a renowned French fashion house, has offered bespoke Barbiecore outfits, allowing clients to customise their attire with luxurious fabrics, intricate embellishments, and bold colours. Chanel, the iconic French fashion house, brought Barbiecore elements into its runway presentations with oversized, whimsical dresses and accessories adorned with Chanel logos and Barbie-themed motifs, blending luxury and nostalgia seamlessly.

Yes, Barbiecore is all about ‘Barbie pink’ (a colour Mattel copyrighted the Pantone shade of) but it’s also so much more than that. Barbiecore is vibrant, feminine, fun, and optimistic. Frankly it’s whatever you want it to be. So, why are we loving it so much? Maybe it’s the nostalgia factor that ties into our obsession with all things noughties right now, or the love of ‘dopamine dressing’ for those of us wanting to spark joy with bold tones.

Or maybe it's just the sheer amount of pink. “An entire monochrome pink or two-toned outfit, all inspired by the loud color — now that's Barbiecore,” one publication said. On set of the new Barbie film, apparently there was so much pink paint used in set construction it led to an international shortage.

Needless to say we're obsessed. While the colour palette might have stayed the same, this new era of Barbie is one that seeks to be inclusive and impactful.
